A4 Associates has successfully concluded a four-year construction supervision and monitoring engagement on the 100,000-metric-tonne grains silo complex at Gusau, Zamfara State.
The project is part of the Nigerian Strategic Grains Reserve (SGR) programme, a federal initiative to establish grain storage capacity across the country to buffer against food price volatility, crop failures, and supply chain disruptions.
A4 Associates was engaged to provide independent construction supervision, quality assurance, and progress monitoring throughout the project lifecycle. Our scope included verification of structural concrete works, mechanical and electrical installations, grain handling equipment commissioning, and compliance with the project's engineering specifications.
The Gusau silo complex comprises multiple reinforced-concrete silo bins, a grain drying facility, a weighbridge, and associated infrastructure including access roads, drainage systems, and administrative buildings. The facility is designed to receive, clean, dry, store, and dispatch grains — primarily maize, millet, sorghum, and rice.
The completion of this engagement demonstrates A4 Associates' capability in supervising complex agricultural infrastructure projects, contributing to Nigeria's food security objectives and the development of post-harvest storage capacity in the country's northern agricultural belt.
